Labor Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP, has today announced that a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will help upgrade Breakers Indoor Sports Stadium in Terrigal.

This $985,000 election commitment will go towards upgrades to the deteriorating facility, including replacing the roof and lighting, and the installation of solar panels and solar heat collectors. The upgrade will also include the replacement of the hot water system and the sanding and re-sealing of the courts.

Central Coast Basketball is the home of the Central Coast Rebels and Central Coast Crusaders. It has 3,000 registered members who participate in activities held weekly.

Consistent with past practice, election commitments will be delivered in line with Commonwealth Grants Rules and Principles.

Quotes attributable to Federal Member for Robertson, Dr Gordon Reid MP:

“Central Coast Basketball is an outstanding sporting organisation that nurtures and cultivates incredible basketball talent here on the coast.

“To ensure this can continue, a re-elected Albanese Labor Government will invest in this stadium and secure the future of basketball on the Central Coast.

“I am pleased that Labor has committed to these upgrades, if elected, and look forward to continuing to support Central Coast Basketball should I secure another term as the Federal Member for Robertson.”

Quotes attributable to General Manager Central Coast Basketball, Mr Mark Ramsdale:

“On behalf of everyone at Central Coast Basketball and all in our community who visit Breakers Indoor Sports Stadium, I’d like to thank Dr Gordon Reid for his efforts to secure this Federal Labor funding for the association.

“At Central Coast Basketball, we have 3000 members, from ages three (mini hoops) to over 80 (walking basketball).

“We also host schools and community groups, and a wide range of indoor sports such as netball, volleyball and pickleball.”
